On Monday, May 15, 2017 at Charter Oak Country Club in Hudson, MA the Metropolitan District will host the 3rd Annual Edward M. Salamoff, DMD Memorial Golf Tournament. When Ed wasn't caring for his patients, serving the Town of Natick or the dental society, he was playing the game he loved, golf. Please join us in remembering Ed on this special day.

All proceeds from the 3rd Annual Edward M. Salamoff, DMD Memorial Golf Tournament will be donated to the MDS Foundation and the Give Kids a Smile(GKAS) efforts for the district. The MDDS has successfully participated in 3 GKAS events over the past 3 years ans wis looking forward to a 4th GKAS at Tufts university School of Dental Medicine on Saturday February 4th

The Day’s Schedule 

8:30 am - 9:00 am Registration  

9:00 am - 10:00 am Breakfast & Lecture: "Implant Dentistry in the 21st Century - The CEREC Way" Dr. Michael Putt & Dr. Yong-Han Koo 1 CE

10:00 am -11:00 am Drving Range/Putting Green

11:00 am - Golf with Boxed Lunch

4:00 pm  - Cocktails, Dinner, Awards & Auction (time is flexible depending completion of tournament)

"Implant Dentistry in the 21st Century - The CEREC Way" with Dr. Yong-Han Koo  and Dr. Michael Putt

Course Description:  This program is specifically designed to provide a unique experience in Digital Implant Dentistry.  The main objective is to share a proven digital workflow that fully engages the patients and the dental team.  This enables the patients to become active participants in their treatment planning process and also allows them to grasp realistic expectations of their treatment, whether good or bad, prior to committing to any procedures. 

Course Objectives: At the completion of this program, each participant will be able to:

Appreciate and understand the value of safety and precision in Digital Implant Dentistry utilizing face scanner, 3D CBCT and optical scanner from the diagnosis and treatment planning phase to the final surgical and prosthetic execution phase.

Identify significant anatomy and pathology to avoid complications and to increase predictability.

Propose treatment plan from a perio-prosthodontic perspective using 3D CBCT in order to provide an ideal, functional, and esthetic outcome.

Understand the key determining factors affecting long-term stability.

Speaker's Biography: Dr. Putt practices general dentistry at Wayland Dental in Wayland, Massachusetts. He has been using CEREC technology since 2008 to improve the oral health of his patients and has lots of fun doing it!

He graduated from Tufts School of Dental Medicine and then earned an AEGD while serving with the US Army. He then went on to serve with the soldiers of the 3rd Special Forces Group at Ft. Bragg as the Group Dental Surgeon. He has been in private practice since 2000 and has proudly been a part of the Metropolitan District Dental Society serving as Chair in 2011 / 2012. Currently he is the MDDS representative to the MDS PAC board and Chair of the Metrowest Dental Study Club

Speaker's Biography: Dr. Yong-Han Koo graduated from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital/Hospital of St. Raphael.  Dr. Koo has received numerous academic and clinical recognitions, including placing first in the national research competition at the 88th annual American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons meeting and the Medical Staff President’s Award from the Department of Surgery at the Hospital of St. Raphael in 2006. 

He is currently a lecturer at Harvard School of Dental Medicine.  He also serves on the board of directors for American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) and as a member of the E-Poster Committee for Academy of Osseointegration (AO).

Dr. Koo has been involved in the beta testing of Sirona Galileos (CBCT) with face scanner and is a key opinion leader for Sirona, Straumann and Dentium.  He is considered one of the leading experts on 3D guided implantology and has lectured extensively on the use of this technology from the diagnosis and treatment planning phase to the final surgical and prosthetic execution phase both nationally and internationally. 

He is passionate about safety and precision in dental care to improve the quality of life of not only the patients, but also the clinicians and all the staff involved.  With that vision, he founded a study group, the Academy of 3D Connection in Osseo-Integration to facilitate optimal communication between academic, corporate and private clinical settings.  Dr. Koo maintains a private practice limited to oral and maxillofacial surgery in Wayland, Massachusetts.

Charter Oak Country Club is a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed 18-hole Championship Course that is 6950 yeards long. A private club, Charter Oak was Jones' first project completed in the Boston MetroWest area.
